ARE MEN ONLY AS LOYAL AS THEIR OPTIONS??

This is a quote I heard a few years back and was said by who other than Bill Mahr! Yes, Superhead's ex man (as most only know him by this lol). To explain for those who may not understand it, it just means that a man will only be as loyal to his "girl", "woman", ect. as his options go. Meaning that a man will only be faithful to his girl if he aint got any other options to choose from. Hence, attractive= more options, unattractive= less options. I posted it on my twitter page and got some interesting responses (sorry if i did not reply to yours, I only responded to a few). I decided to post this topic because @YOUNGandBLESSED (follow him..he is COOL, lol) hit me back sayin that it was not true. Women agreed and even a few dudes agreed but I sat back and truly pondered (yes I said pondered) this statement a little bit. I was left wondering, are men truly only as loyal as their options?
Is it just a generalized statement concerning all men but regarding only a few? By that I mean the statement is meant for men in general, but does it really only ring true to a few. Not saying that men who feel that is true are cheaters and liars and dogs because I feel that this can be stretched over to women as well. If this is true, then all men who are deemed attractive (Im using the word attractive to include not only looks but money as well- being financially attractive) are dogs because they have a lot, i mean a lot of options. Just look at the entertainment industry, there are physically attractive men and financially attractive men with a whole bunch of "options" (ie groupies). We have all seen it happen, the "entertainer" starts off with a girlfriend but as soon as they blow up, then suddenly that relationship ends. I am not going to say that their disloyalty is the whole cause, but people would be foolish to believe that it wasnt in quite a few situations. HOWEVER, there are quite a few that do stay with the girl dispite of their rise to fame and options expanding tremendously. So, is the statement Bill Mahr made correct?
The thing is, quite a few entertainers are married and even more are supposed to be in a relationship. So, are these men automatically labeled "unfaithful" because they have something that a good portion of women desire? The quote/statement seems to suggest this. So I am wondering world, are men truly only as loyal ("faithful") as their options?
